Your key never leaves your device. Little Brother calls the Brave Search API directly — it never stores your key or relays it through our servers, because we don’t have any.

Why we don’t scrape search results.
Scraping a search provider’s HTML results page typically violates their terms of service. It’s also brittle, hostile to the provider, and a poor fit for an app that asks you to trust how it handles your data. The Brave Search API is the supported, permitted way to request results — with clear terms, predictable limits, and a path that doesn’t depend on reverse-engineering a results page.

Exception To Policy and Little Brother are designed so we hold nothing: no accounts, no chat logs, no search history on our side. Web search runs from your device to Brave with your API key. We never see the query, never proxy it, and never retain it. Search stays off by default — if a question shouldn’t leave the device, leave the setting off. Anything that leaves goes only to a provider you choose, under their terms and ours.
